My grandmother has several health problems and goes to quite a few doctors. She also has home health and personal care. For the most part she is treated respectfully by her caregivers. There is one thing that annoys me and her though: caregivers who pat her and call her honey or sweetie in a sing song voice. I want to scream at them that she is not a child. Even with all her health problems she is still probably a whole lot smarter than some of her caregivers. I know they probably don't mean any disrespect and are trying to be nice but it's patronizing. Elderly people that need help are adults, not children and need to be spoken to accordingly. Sooo please stop with the sweeties and honeys and patting on top of the head. It's annoying.
